The 50th West Wales Centre Dinner Dance will be held at “The Village” Hotel, Swansea after     previously hosting 2 very successful Dinner Dances.

The West Wales Children's Christmas party was held on Saturday December 5th 2014. The Ladies Committee put on another outstanding event with party games, dancing, food and Father Christmas even took time out of his very busy schedule to visit with lovely gifts for all the children attending.  Thank you to the Ladies for hosting another great event.

Centre Members take on the Kilimanjaro Trek in 2015 raising funds for Halcyon


Two West Wales members are taking on the challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro  in February 2015 to raise funds for Halcyon who support children and adults with autism and provide training to support the carers and families of of those with a diagnosis of autism or other pervasive developmental disorders.


Carl Burridge and John Bennett will be  part of a  27 strong group  raising funds for this deserving charity.

 An amazing personal achievement for you both and  an outstanding fund raising effort for the very worthy  charity  Halcyon.

Our chosen charities for 2015 are Ty Olwen and Halcyon.

The Tŷ Olwen Trust was formed in 1981 with the purpose of supporting the Tŷ Olwen Hospice, a specialist Palliative Care Unit for cancer patients.

Halcyon Training Foundation aims to provide training to community groups, families and carers who deal with people presenting challenging and difficult behaviour. Halcyon Training Foundation aims to deliver training in conflict resolution to community groups, families and carers, and, in particular, to those who fall outside the reach of education and work place training.

The Charity aims to provide training and qualifications to enhance life long learning, personal development and to assist in lowering conflict between individuals and communities.

2015 West Wales Ede Tucker Memorial Rosebowl Competition Results

This years Ede Tucker Rosebowl Competition was held at the Chairmans /  Summer tea rally at Porthyrhyd.

The theme was 50th Golden Anniversary and  the competition was won this year  by Hazel McCarthy, well done to Hazel and  you can see the wining entry in the  picture next to this column.

We held the “cook with crock” cookery competition at the Weobley castle rally

Which I am please to see was very well supported with 12 entries this year, this  may be due to the fact the recipe had Baileys in it? But the results are:

 3rd place Lucia (small), 2nd place Judith James and the Winner - Jayne Bevan.

Thanks to John Crockett for providing the recipe. (good choice)

PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION WINNER


This years photography competition was held at the Harvest Supper Rally, the  theme was a force of nature and the winner was picked by Mrs Griffith.

The winner entry is on the right and was taken by Jim McCarthy. Well Done Jim.
